Hello!

Welcome to my page about photography and graphic design!

I hope you will enjoy your visit here and find something interesting…

I am an avid photographer since the old analog days. I started my photographic career with a conventional 35mm SLR-camera with no fancy automatics… So i have learnt photography the traditional way, working with shutter, aperture and focus manually.

I have experience with landscape and nature photography and conventional studio photo. I work a lot with panoramas , landscapes scenarios both in Sweden and abroad. I am also specialized in photographing various sunrises and sunsets, as i believe that it is one of the most beautiful moments of the day. I like to capture the special atmosphere during “the golden hour” with it’s multitude of different colors

Although i now shoots exclusively digitally, my beginnings in film photography engenderers a strong desire to record the landscape at its natural best, and nothing more. I uses equipment to enable me to capture magical moments authentically at the picture taking stage, rather than relying on computer enhancements afterwards. But there are 2 important remarks to this statement:

There is circumstances that makes adjustments in Photoshop necessary. When photographing historical and religious sites, there is sometimes restrictions for use of flash and tripods. In low light conditions is it sometimes necessary to deal with noise in images due to high ISO-values. And taking pictures from cars, planes, boats or other moving objects can be very challenging… And sometimes is adjustments necessary when it comes to stitch a series of photos for a panorama.

Because a camera sensor does not have the same dynamic range as the human eye, it is very useful to use HDR imaging under some circumstances. Sometimes in high contrast scenes, even the best exposure gives you blown out highlights, flat shadows, or both. And another example is to enhance details in architectural and landscape photos.

High-dynamic-range imaging (HDRI or HDR) is a set of techniques used in imaging and photography to reproduce a greater dynamic range of luminosity than possible using standard digital imaging or photographic techniques. HDR images can represent more accurately the range of intensity levels found in real scenes, from direct sunlight to faint starlight, and is often captured by way of a plurality of differently exposed pictures of the same subject matter.

But it is still important to emphasize that computer manipulations is still no replacement for a proper craftsmanship during a photo-session!

I have done 3D illustrations since the late 80s. I have previously worked in Caligari trueSpace, which was one of the first useful applications to personal computers. Previously, such programs were reserved for very expensive high-end workstations. I have also developed 3D models for use in flight simulators on freelance-basis. Today i work in software as Strata, Carrara 8.5 Pro , Poser Pro 2012 and Vue 2014.

I am also founder of a marketing and web design agency in Stockholm,  Sunspire Media & Design. that deliver unique total solutions for web design, photography and graphic design for companies, organizations and associations.
